Apple is shining a bright new cheery color on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus: Yellow. The fresh colorway doesn't add to the iPhone 14's core features—which still include powerful cameras,Emergency SOS via satellite, and Crash Detection—but it does perhaps make it slightly harder to pick the right color for you.

Apple showed us both the yellow iPhone 14 and yellow iPhone 14 Plus devices in person. The rear glass features a vibrant shade of yellow, with a slightly duller, almost mustard-like yellow tint to the aluminum frame. It's a purer yellow than theiPhone XRfrom a few years ago, which featured more of an orange tint. If yellow is not your favorite color, this yellow iPhone isn't going to change your mind, but yellow fans will likely be attracted to the new, sunshiney shade.

The yellow iPhone 14 features the same 6.1-inch display as before, while the 14 Plus has the same 6.7-inch screen, both of which earnedexcellent ratings. The screens have the same Super Retina XDR tech that supports 1,200 nits of brightness (peak outdoor), meaning they are more than vibrant enough to match the bright new yellow hue.

Storage options are unchanged. The 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB models are available in the new color, starting at $799 for the iPhone 14 and $899 for the iPhone 14 Plus.

Apple carried over the powerfulA15 Bionicchip with its 5-core GPU, so you can still bank on the fantastic performance we observed in ouriPhone 14 review.

Before the launch of the yellow model, Apple offered the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus in Blue, Purple, Midnight (black), Starlight (white), and (Product) Red. Adding yellow brings the total options to six, which is enough to offer variety without making the decision too difficult.

Apple will begin acceptingpreorders(Opens in a new window)for the yellow iPhone 14 and 14 Plus on Friday, March 10, at 5 a.m. PST, with general availability to follow on March 14.

For all iPhone 14 models (including theProandPro Max), Apple is adding Canary Yellow, Iris, Olive, and Sky protective cases to its offerings. That brings the total number of colors for the Silicone Case with MagSafe to 12.

Apple Watchlovers aren't left out of the loop, either, as the company revealed several newApple Watch bands(Opens in a new window), including a Hermès Saphir Casaque Single Tour band for $319. The Solo Loop band received four new colors—Canary Yellow, Olive, Purple Fog, and Sprout Green. The Sport Band now comes in Bright Orange, Olive, and Sky colors. Finally, Apple debuted Bright Orange, Olive, and Purple Fog variants of the Braided Solo Loop band.
