Ikea has revealed the latest addition to its range of Vappebyspeakersthat's designed to be used absolutely anywhere.

It's called theVappeby Portable bluetooth speaker(Opens in a new window), and will be available in black, red, or yellow when it launches next month. The tiny speaker can connect to any Bluetooth-enabled device, includingsmartphonesandlaptops, and even pairs with a second Vappeby speaker for true surround sound. It's rated IP67 for water and dust resistance, which means the accessory can survive being submerged in water for up to 30 minutes.

The killer feature of this speaker, though, is the combination of battery life and price. You'll spend $15 to buy one, and then get to enjoy 80 hours of playtime (at 50% volume) before a recharge is required.

"The speaker was designed with simplicity and clear functions in mind making it a very user-friendly solution,"according to Stjepan Begic(Opens in a new window), product design developer at Ikea of Sweden. "We hope customers will embrace the speaker, and we hope it adds value to their lives by enabling them to enjoy sound experiences from anywhere."

The device joins Ikea'sVappeby portable Bluetooth outdoor speaker lamp, introduced last year with Spotify Tap playback and a built-in LED light. Dust- and rainproof, the 10-inch-tall appliance provides 360-degree sound and features a rechargeable battery with up to 12 hours of streaming and a "pleasant glow" from the lamp.
